Speak in sound bites, write in complete sentences

Speak in sound bites, write in complete sentences. At least if you want to be understood. You can't write in the same way you would speak because it is too choppy, too repetitive, and too simplified. You can't speak in the way you would write because it is too confusing and easily misconstrued. That's why "bullshit artists" are usually useless at anything else and why some of the most brilliant people around you are not in charge of everything. It's a hard line to cross -- a lot of people are stuck one one side or the other of this divide. Of course, the vast majority aren't on either side and unfortunately can neither speak nor write clearly. Sigh. Complaining seems to be a ubiquitous talent, explaining not so much.

Re-launch

After many years of neglect, a new posting for my blog! I deleted all of my old posts. They were boring political rants anyway. I think I had a readership of two people at it's height. I'm pretty sure those two are gone now, so what the heck -- I can say anything since no one is listening. I'll just let it all hang out. Since I'm talking to myself here, I can give myself a hearty "welcome back, me."
